Default XBS 3 Stars: Week 5 - Better Late Than Never

I know it's a little late, but allthway had a hectic schedule this week. These may not have been his choices but I still wanted to provide these as they add so much to the league. Better late then never....Enjoy! ~ Dusty

Huskies v3
Detroit Red Wings
[ Forward | 3gp | 3g | 9a | 12pts ] - [ Week Record | 3-0-0 ]

The "Detroit Dangler" was 4th in scoring this week among all forwards. And while he may not have been the top scorer in Week 5, his points per game is where he stood out. In only 3 games played, Huskies had a stellar 12 points, good for a 4 point per game average. Even more impressive was his 9 assists among those 12 points. He also went undefeated on the week (3 - 0), with a +7 (ranked 2nd), and a third ranked 16 hits. Huskies was a force on both ends of the rink this week for Detroit.

Whiplash444
Toronto Maple Leafs
[ Defense | 7gp | 5g | 5a | 10pts ] - [ Week Record | 5-2-0 ]

Talk about a workhorse, Whiplash played all 7 games for the Leafs in Week 5 going a solid 5 - 2. He led all defensemen in points with 10 (5g, 5a) and was top 5 in +/- with a +5. He held a very respectable D-rating of 86.3 and also added a physical presence with 10 hits. Whiplash has always been one of the more offensive defensemen here at XBS but this week, he was outstanding in all aspects of the game. Toronto is slowly making their way up the standings and it's obvious Whiplash has been a major contributor.

No Regretzkys
Ottawa Senators
[ Forward | 1gp | 0g | 0a | 0pts ] --- [ Goalie | 6gp | 2.50gaa | .805% ] - [ Week Record | 4-1-2 ]

One could argue that No Regretzkys doesn't deserve the third spot in Week 5 but anytime I see a shutout in a goaltender's statistics that certainly raises a red flag. Considering how unforgiving this game is for goaltenders, a shutout is no small feat, and Larry was the only one to get the goose egg this week. His other numbers don't jump off the page but were certainly respectable, as he posted a GAA of 2.50 and a Save % of .805. But beyond the stats, most importantly is team success, and No Regretzkys definitely contributed this week as he had a record of 4 - 1 - 1 between the pipes. Ottawa is definitely keeping this playoff race interesting and NR is a huge part of that.
