![]() Actually, if Phoenix doesn't move to Quebec City, then perhaps they'll end up there....who knows? But I think we can agree that Phoenix has to move somewhere and it will happen soon too. That's my gut feeling.

![]() Seems like Bettman and Daly are FINALLY ready to do something with this franchise. The posting of the 2013-14 schedule is being held back pending a decision on the Coyotes. The way they're talking, it seems highly unlikely it's staying in the desert, almost 16 years to the day after it shouldn't have moved there in the first place.
Watching Sportsnet today, the question that keeps getting asked is where WOULD they move, presuming a purchase to keep the team in Glendale isn't finalized in very short order? Obviously there's a lot of folks that would WANT the team in Quebec, but it doesn't look like there's a serious ownership offer there. Then there's southern Ontario, which they seem to think is possible, but for the start of next season, there aren't any viable arenas. The place they seem to think is the most likely destination? Seattle. I wouldn't mind seeing that, I have to believe that the Seattle market is a better opportunity than anything in the desert or most in the Southeast. Of course, the prospect of Kansas City still looms kind of strong. But who knows? I would be inclined to believe this whole situation is in very similar shape to the whole Thrashers relocation a couple years ago, where the public knew nothing of negotiations with Winnipeg until maybe 2 days before the official announcement was made. Reason being? This is the first time Bettman or Daly have made public statements that sound less than committed to keeping the team in Phoenix. |

![]() Bettman is now saying this team is moving if Glendale city council doesn't approve the deal by Tuesday. Thoughts?

![]() Just as it seems one door is finally closing, another one could be opening. The Devils have been in financial trouble for quite a while, but apparently brought it together a bit last year. Now, apparently the Devils are in the tank again, and on the verge of being put up for sale. Can you say Phoenix v2?

![]() Maybe its over.
Glendale passed the motion to accept the lease for RSE for 15 years, ostensibly reasoning that while they'll probably lose money in the deal, they'll lose more without an anchor tenant. Now the future is secure in Phoenix barring another circus accident like RSE suddenly revealing they don't actually have money or something, but this seems unlikely. Also, they are expected to announce they are now the Arizona Coyotes. The council vote was close and only accepted after some last minute changes with the final vote 4-3 in favour. |
