yeah, just sit back and enjoy it for what it is. there's not a pop quiz after every 3rd episode like a history class in school, haaa.

I've watched every episode live since the first season and I'm still confused on some "houses" and who's lord of whatever, but it doesn't take away from the enjoyment of the show.

What he said.

When I talk about the show with friends I'm always referring to characters as " the fat bald guy" "big guy with scar" "tomboy" "sneaky one with pornstash" etc Hahahah

I read all the books as well as watched all the shows to date, and there are still some WTF moments for me as well. Sometimes the show follows the books, sometimes it doesn't. It's also been a few years since I've read the books, so yeah, 'WTF' and 'do you remember that from the books?' has come up a few times.

Still a great show!

Here's our current theory on how it will play out:

Given the title of the book series, our current theory here is that Danaerys and John Snow will ultimately team up to defend the seven kingdoms from the wight walkers, with Tyrion becoming "the hand", and close advisor to Dany.

At this point, we're just guessing.

Thanks, I feel much better now...seriously.

And DM, that's what I do when I'm reading the recaps and click on the name links. That would totally be how I'd be talking to people about it as well.

I do exactly the same thing (or at least I did for a few seasons) until I got so hooked that I both started reading the books and used a wiki to confirm anything I didn't quite understand.

I've come to terms with the fact that sometimes, the show is good at throwing red herrings and sending major characters in a plot direction that doesn't necessarily add to the overarching story in any major way, or so it would seem - nearing the end of season 6 and there are several things they did in the last 5 years that I can't find any good reason for, but seemed incredibly important at the time. But the nice thing is, 9/10 times those "inconsequential" bits are still bloody entertaining.

Keep going - the best quotable characters in the show don't really get going until season 2.

Getting in here before the finale talk possibly starts up

I'm a few episodes into Season 3 (finished episode 3). These episodes feel really short and that's a good thing. I find myself getting upset that the episode is already over

I've been a little afraid to post anything because I'm scared you guys might accidentally spoil some things. For instance, I wanted to say something about my favorite characters/story lines but worry someone might say, "Enjoy that while you can.." Or something along those lines.

But since I read the Season 2 thread before starting 3, I'll just go ahead and say something (which I'm sure someone will now say "Enjoy that while you can."):

I completely agree with this. Season 3 it's starting to be a little less interesting (I have a feeling it will change to interesting soon and greatly) but the first two seasons her story was by far my favorite.

There is another story line that I didn't care for at all in the first two seasons but now I'm starting to like in Season 3 (and again, I have my suspicions that it will be a major story line and "game" changer).

Anyway, definitely enjoying the show and can't wait to watch an episode or two (or three) each night. Unfortunately I have things going on or I'd be watching 4-5

I went looking for a map last night just to kind of understand where everyone and everything is in relation to each other. HBO has a viewer's guide which has a map. The really cool thing about the map is that you can put in what episode you're watching and it will show ONLY things that you already know

That's awesome that you are enjoying the show. It really is addicting. Once you are caught up you will be able to suffer through the year of waiting for Season 7 with the rest of us lol. Season 6 has by far been my favorite so far, but Season 5 was amazing as well. Apparently Season 7 is going to be balls to the wall and rumor is that it will only be 7 episodes long (fewer episodes but bigger budget on each one). We shall see!

As for the map, that is really helpful. I also like to know where everyone is. You really get a good feel for how large the North is and how different the people from there are compared to the southerners. Really great series. Once you are caught up I highly suggest you get into some of the histories and lore of the great houses. Not sure if I mentioned it before but comicbookgirl19 is a Youtuber and put together EXCELLENT videos for the history of House Stark, Lannister, Targaryen, and Baratheon.

Argh! You bastards I just finished Season 3 and was happily reading the Season 3 thread here. And then BAM! Season 4 spoiler out of the blue

*sigh* Season 2 and Season 3 both had incredible 9th episodes and then the final was lacking by comparison. Obviously they both set things up for the next season but just kind of odd.

Season 3's 9th episode was a "holy shit" moment for me. And judging by what I read in the other thread, it was for a lot of you as well

So I'll probably be avoiding this thread for a while considering the Season 6 finale is tomorrow night. I'm halfway there I guess
