Default Blockbuster Trade?

Buster Olney and Ken Rosenthal have reported that Marlins are basically dismantling their team and sending many top players up north to Toronto.

Josh Johnson, Mark Buehrle, John Buck, Emilio Bonifacio and Jose Reyes are being sent to Toronto for Yunel Escobar, Adeniv Hechevarria, Justin Nicolino, Jake MArisnick and Henderson Alvarez.

My interest in baseball has diminished over the last few years, but my god if this is true the Red Sox are in some trouble. I was amazed to see that Jose Bautista wasn't involved.

Edit: Olney has stated through his Twitter account that the deal is done

holy shit!

I don't really follow baseball all that much outside of the Blue Jays rosters, so the only name I know is Reyes and I think Josh Johnson is pretty good as well. But this looks like a big trade that I think Toronto may have won.

Is this trade lopsided in Toronto's favour? sure seems that way to me, but like I said, I don't know half the people involved.

It's tough to tell who wins as of this second. Obviously it would be easy to say Toronto just based on Reyes and Johnson. But, 5 years down the road if Toronto hasn't won anything, I'd say Miami won this. But then again, Miami picked up basically all prospects other than Escobar, so none of them might pan out.

A very, very interesting trade to say the least. But Blue Jays fans should feel very good about their chances over the next few seasons. As long as Bautista doesn't get busted for PED's.

Bautista on PED's??? OK....

Have you seen him? He's by no means muscular. His power is generated by his bat speed (which he learned how to properly use from the coaching staff in Toronto).

Meh, but I love his speed on the bases.....I'm more excited about the improvement in our starting pitching.

Miami just basically lost all hope at reeling in FA's anymore. Ridiculous.
