Default Aperture 3 Question

Hi folks,

Do any of you use Aperture 3 for photo editing and/or graphic design? I had access to photoshop at my previous job and I liked using it, however, the price of photoshop is quite a bit more than Aperture 3. The work I used to do with P-shop and I'd like to do with Aperture 3 falls into two categories: photo touch ups, and graphic design. By graphic design I'm not talking about anything super advanced, most of what I did in the past with p-shop was along the lines of humorous chops, and creating (layered) graphics (including forum signatures and avatars).

Does anyone have Aperture that could share some insight?

don't let the price fool you. Aperture 3 is a pro level photo editing suite, Apple stripped some features when they started selling it in the Mac App store but it is on par with photoshop.

for humorous chops and editing with all the tools you might need may I suggest:

http://www.pixelmator.com/

$30.00 in the Mac App Store

or PhotoShop Touch for the iPad:

http://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/adobe...495716481?mt=8

$9.99 in the App store.

I use Pixelmator and love it, easy to find what you are looking for and is really user friendly

I have a friend that grabbed Photoshop Touch and constantly raves about it.

I tried Aperture awhile ago (pre App Store release) and found it too advanced for me, got spooked so I uninstalled it and sold my copy.

GIMP (free open source) is another app that is really good although I am not sure about Lion or Mountain Lion compatibility

wait for some others to chime in, I am far from an expert and basically only edit photos when I have to.

After looking through some of the basic, intermediate, and advanced tutorials I'm convinced that Pixelmator is the only software I'll need to accomplish what I'd like to get done. Thanks again Rob!

Yes, that is the version I have. I'm wrapping up the end of my work day here with a little mini project start, and I love what I'm able to do so far. And all that for just $15, what a bargain! Thanks again Rob.
