Default Huawei - yep, I'm going Sino!

I purchased an unlocked Huawei Honor 5X today from Amazon. It was under two bills, and it has the sorts of features I'm looking for. It's on the GSM global standard, so that's a good place to start. It has dual sim card slots, so I can easily purchase foreign sim cars when I travel abroad. It has a micro-SD card for an additional 128GB of storage. It has a long-lasting battery. Best of all, being unlocked (and paid for) I won' be stuck in some horrendous US-only contract for the next two years. I need flexibility.

It's a new brand for me, though several cousins back home in Belgium have used them and have few complaints. I'm looking forward to a more untethered, mobile experience.

Anyone else rocking a Huawei?

It's a small world Pete. One of my good buddies just got a position at Huawei as Senior Director of Corporate Communications. I had never heard of Huawei before until I spoke to him and then when I saw your post it was kind of funny.

Never heard of it. Competition is always good. I always get discounted Samsung phones from Verizon and even though it's a bit expensive, I've never had any complaints. So if it ain't broke, don't fix it is my motto. Especially when I do hear complaints about other carriers and phones.

Installing the sim and SD cards was a breeze. So was activation. Build quality looks solid, let's see how it holds up, and how it performs with foreign sim cards in there when I travel. So far so good tho.

It's a really good brand. Best Chinese phone make ion the market. They built the Nexus 6P for Google so if Google partnered with them I'm sure they are a great company

Thing feels solid, well built. Feels like an apple running Android. Weird, but it works.
