By increasing the limit, it will allow the game to flow a little better and it wouldn't "end" per say, once a team hit 4-5 goals. On the flip side, it also gives the other team an opportunity to jump back into the game, without having to fight through the neutral zone. We definitely took the possibility of a 10-0 game into account, but we expect that people will still have a sense of sportsmanship and respect for one another.
Read and Understood, and thanks for the explanation on this. With a 10 goal lead limit, I'm sure most people will have a gentleman's rule and start backing off around 6 to 8, depending on the game situation. I know we were involved in a win last year that we had 6 goals in the first half of the first period, and the rest of the game was a complete bore... with a 10 goal limit, at least we could have played real hockey for another period or two. Well done.
