Pens reportedly offer Letang 8 yr ~56 million contract...

Not even an hour later it's being reported that he's already rejected it.

Bye bye!

With the reduced cap, he feels he will get more than $7 million a season yet?

C'mon, Nonis, send Phaneuf away for him!

When Rob Rossi made the comments about Toronto he suggested Letang wasn't interested in signing a new deal with the Penguins. Obviously Letang gets no say on where he plays next season, but this could be anything from the start of a trade demand soap opera to a bad dump by the Penguins.

- Pierre LeBrun

Also told that Letang camp counter-offered with a long-term deal which would pay less than $8 M (north of $7.5 M)
Pens said too high

What a joke... Insane.

Letang might as well pack his bags and get ready to move.In my opinion he will end up on the Islanders or the Panthers.

The Bruins are letting Ference go,I think a few teams may try to sign him. The bruins also need to resign Rask and Horton. Both are seeking long term deals from all the rumours. Now Horton is asking 5 to 6million a season. Im sure Rask will be seeking a raise from his 3.5 mill and he is apparently looking for a J. Quick type deal. Cap geek is saying 5.8 mill per season for Quick is Rask worth that much and if not who replaces him. The Bruins may move Kelly and Peverly to make cap space. I would rather see them keep Kelly and Peverly and let Horton go.There are a lot of good wingers available this season that they could pick up.

Rask will be the only priority, I like Horton but let him walk, injuries are starting to pop up almost every season and his concussion history along with his style of play will be the downfall of his career. We have quite a few good goalie prospects and I'm a huge believer in Khododbin (SP?) if we don't re-sign Rask and sign Kho instead. Oddly enough our D core is so strong almost any goalie can show up and play well, it will be interesting to see.

Bottom line though I expect Rask to be our starting net-minder in 2014.

Darren Dreger ‏@DarrenDreger 1h

During SCup @Real_ESPNLeBrun reported the Bruins working on 8 year ext for Bergeron. Sounds like it's getting real close.

Things are starting to get REALLY interesting heading into the draft tomorrow.

Bob McKenzie is reporting that while it's not 100%, Nathan Horton likely won't be back with the Bruins next season. There was also a bomb dropped after that, saying that the Bruins have made Tyler Seguin available via trade.

I love this time of year.
