Default XBS 3 Stars: Week 3

I'm filling in for KT this week, and I'm having flashbacks to just how difficult this is sometimes. We had some excellent performances this week, many of which were already mentioned in the Key players section of the Power Rankings. However, there is no denying the performances of these three this week. Hope you enjoy.

Burnzie79
Calgary Flames
[ Forward | 7gp | 3g | 14a | 17pts ] - [ Week Record | 6-1-0 ]

Burnzie did it all this week for the Flames, even tying teammate NR in scoring with 17 points, 14 of which were assists. It was quite obvious that he was all about setting up his teammates this week and that certainly cannot be ignored. But he didn't stop there. He also led all forwards with a whopping 32 hits and had an outstanding 54.0% success rate in the face off dot. In his most impressive performance of the week, a 8 - 4 drubbing of the Knights, he was involved in 7 of the 8 Flames goals, adding 1 goal and 7 helpers. And on top of that, when Burnzie was in the lineup, the Flames were a dominant 6 - 1 showing just how valuable he is to team success. Burnzie and the well oiled machine in Calgary continue to get the job done.

No Regretzkys
Calgary Flames
[ Forward | 5gp | 7g | 10a | 17pts ] - [ Week Record | 3-0-2 ]

NR was was only involved in 5 of the Flames 8 games this week but that didn't stop him from leading the league in points with 17, 10 of which were assists. He now averages 2.0 points per game which puts him in top 10 of the league. During a First Star performance versus Vegas, he had the primary assist on the game winning goal in OT to seal the win. Even more impressive, in 4 out of his 5 games played in week 3, he was named one of the stars of the game (2 Firsts, 1 Second, 1 Third). No Regretzkys is one of the most dangerous point producers here at XBS and has the ability to open up the rink for his teammates and this week was no exception. The Calgary offense is on a roll right now and there is no denying NR's influence on their success.

Nico 916 Suave
Vegas Golden Knights
[ Forward | 5gp | 1g | 7a | 8pts ] --- [ Goalie | 2gp | 1.50gaa | .870% ] - [ Week Record | 2-2-3 ]

Gorgeous pulled double duty for the Knights this week both on offense and in between the pipes, performing admirably in both. Offensively, his stats don't jump off the page, but his 7 assists, out of his 8 points, show his dangerous playmaking ability. He was also third among forwards with 21 hits. Despite an 8 - 4 loss to the Flames, he was the lone bright spot for the Knights in that game, garnering Third Star honors with 1 goal and 3 assists. And although it's a small sample size, in his two games played in net, Gade was sight to behold, nabbing a shutout, along with a league leading 1.50 GAA and .870 Save %. After that aforementioned shutout he was named the First Star of the game. Nico was Mr. Versatility for the Knights this week and will continue to be a valuable part of the squad.
