I'm an Admin so I can make it whatever I want.

Actually, it's a post reputation thing. If someone makes a positive/helpful post, you can give them good reputation. Or, if it's a negative post that doesn't contribute to the community, you can give it a negative reputation.

We are watching how the reputation is being used right now so if it gets abused, we'll remove it. But basically it's a reflection of how you act/post on the forums.

I could explain it better, but just whipped this up really quick.

To give reputations, you click on the scales in that person's post and a reason why you're giving it. If you get rep, I believe you can see it in your UserCP and it will have a link to the post the rep was given.

Good answer Jim. I provided you positive feedback and then your rep disappeared! I promise it was positive.

EDIT: Nevermind, it's back.

I was wondering this myself. Is the PM option disabled?

I moved the post into the Site Help section so I gave you negative rep for having to do that But seriously, if used correctly we think it's a good tool.

Not sure what you mean. You should be able to send Private Messages, let us know if you can't.

lol, that is a small bug that has to do with the flash rep system. For some reason it disappears until you refresh when you give rep.

Right now we are more or less experimenting with the Rep System. If it seems to work well and people use it then we might incorporate it more throughout the site. It has its benefits and ways of maintaining a level of quality in posts and threads. Anything to help keep conversations over an I.Q. of 80 is welcome.

My bad guys. I'm able to check my inbox and sent messages if I go to my profile. I'm used to clicking "Private Messages" on the header to check my PMs.

You can still do that if you goto the top right of the header and click on the words "Private Messages:". They are a link to your inbox.
